OPPO A73 with 6-inch 18:9 display and 4GB RAM goes official

Earlier in October, the OPPO A73 smartphone was spotted on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. Today, the company has officially unveiled the device in its home market of China. The phone comes as a mid-range offering with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device sports almost no bezels on the two sides and slim bezels on top and bottom of the screen. The handset features a premium all-metal unibody design with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The OPPO A73 features a 6-inch TFT-LTPS display bearing a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. Powering the phone is a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor, mated to a Mali G71-MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. For storage, the phone is equipped with 32GB of memory, which can be further increased up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card. Software-wise, the phone boots ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The OPPO A73 sports a 13-megapixel primary shooter with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. For selfies and video calling, the device is equipped with a 16-megapixel snapper with an aperture of f/2.0. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 4G LTE, VoLTE (voice over LTE), dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and A-GPS. The handset is fuelled by a 3,200mAh battery, which supports fast charging technology.
The OPPO A73 has been priced at RMB 1,699 (~Rs 16,500), and is available in China in black and gold hues. There’s no word regarding its international availability at the moment.
In related news, OPPO recently launched a new variant of the OPPO F5 (review) called the F5 Youth in India. The phone is priced at Rs 16,990, and comes with a 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 display and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The device is available in the country via both e-commerce portals and brick-and-mortar stores.
